Gestures and a T-face

I have been inspired to get my figures improved... so I have been doing some gestures on a pre-printed proportion grid based on Loomis. I wanted to be forced to put things in the right place to get in the habit of it.

The face was for a competition at work to make a self portrait as a terminator to win stuff. I got a poster in the end, but was aiming for the artbook. This is the first self portrait I have done in many years. Bit messed up though...

the breech

I was listening to 'sharpe's tiger' by Bernard Cornwall and I wanted to paint the attack on the breech of Seringe Baitan.

All work and no play...

Another in my famous person studies... The embodiment of psycho. Damn he looks evil.

3 versions. The initial drawing, a painted interpretation and then a mix to see what it was like.

sketchbook studies

Here are some Sketchbook studies from life, photos and imagination. I have been trying to draw the same face from different angles and in different expressions.
